Progetti Plastici
On show at the Carte Scoperte Gallery, Agostino Ferrari's paper models. Preparatory to his works of the series Interno / Esterno, they have, though, a self-sufficient expressive originality, which makes them much more than just maquettes.
As art critic Martina Corgnati writes:
"[...] they are complete works in themselves, but at the same time they “lead up to”, assist in the conception – and are therefore at the origin – of another work, usually a painting, but of late also a relief, an enameled metal plate sculpture [...]
They are miniature-sized, just a few square centimetres each; like miniatures, they are clear-cut, highly detailed, faultlessy executed. Therefore they require a sort of “intimate” approach, a closeness, a first-hand contact. They let themselves be fully appreciated only one at a time and just by a single person, a feature that makes them quite different from the artist's other works, but the very first ones [...]"
10% of the proceeds will go to the Manuli Onlus foundation for Alzheimer research

Farnesina Collection’s Masterpieces.
The exhibition, Martina Corgnati and Giovanni Iovine curators, that opens at the Zagreb Contemporary Art Museum from October 6th to November 14th, 2015 and at the Bosnia Herzegovina National Gallery of Sarajevo from November 19th to December 11th, 2015, has at its core a State "collection" with a peculiar location, i.e. the Farnesina Palace, Italian Foreign Office Headquarters.
The collection, still in progress and claiming no comprehensive outlook on art as museums do, centres around some noteworthy Italian artists and art movements from the Fifties to today,. However, in order to give the public a more exhaustive outline of the Italian artscape from the Second World War onward and of some key moments and artists of the time, the curators will display, alongside it, the works of several other artists, some given by the artists themselves on an extended loan (among them an especially interesting sample of Agostino Ferrari's research), others borrowed from various sources (Emilio Vedova, Michelangelo Pistoletto, Ettore Spalletti, Enrico Castellani, Lucio Fontana, Vincenzo Agnetti, Mimmo Paladino).
The Zagreb exhibition will also include a large number of works from the local Contemporary Art Museum collections.
In hoc signo
At the Ca' di Fra' Arte Contemporanea gallery, in Milan, opening on October 1st and closing on November 20th, Agostino Ferrari's solo exhibition In hoc signo on the latest developments of the artist's long-standing research on sign.
Sign in its earliest moment, before turning into writing or representation, still fraught with manifold expressive and informative potentiality. An outstanding development of Ferrari's complex and multifaceted research are his latest steel works, suggestively named Inside-Outside, marking the comeback of a three-dimensional materiality (already experimented with, in the past, in different ways and with varying outcome) and opening up a new sign dimension, "recollection".
